Ok my car is a manual tranny with a 3.1 and basically it sometimes just wont start. Sometimes it wont do anything when i turn the key sometimes it will crank, and sometimes it doesnt have any issue at all and runs perfect. I really don't know where to go with this so if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

So it cranks everytime? You said sometimes it does nothing, by nothing do you mean it doesn't crank at all or do you mean it cranks but just won't fire?

 

sounds sorta like mine... it cranks slow but fires always when cold but let the car sit for 1-2 hrs an she wont do any thing when i turn the key not even a click so i have to take a screwdriver an jump the solenoid an it fires slow like usual this happens even if i charge the bat for few ours till its fully charged, but i have a 305 v8 and mine is an 89

 

by nothing im mean no crank, no click, nothing.

 

Just a problem with intermitent cranking? after you turn the key and there is no cranking does the security light stay on? If so it may be the wires breaking on the passkey. If not them maybe the starter solenoid and/or starter itself is going bad. Or the starter relay. Or the ignition switch.
