Default '92 Camaro RS - 305TBI

Hope someone can help...
I have a '92 305 TBI. The car sat for about 2 years, started it every month or so and let it warm up and let the collant circulate and such. Backed it up and down the drive too. Just before winter (Nov '05), I filled the tank with premium and added Sta-bil (sp?).

Here's my problem, I took the car for a ride around the block one evening about a month ago and all was well. The next day I started it back up and it began running rough and then died. If I feathered the gas it would run very eradic, eventually dying out. Now, when you first start it, it idles smooth for the first 5 seconds or so (idle ramps up around 1000-1500 rpm and slowly comes back down to the ~500rpm home) and when the idle is coming back down it just stalls.

The car has SLP headers, Random Tech hi flow CAT, 3" MAC exhaust, Bosch +4 plugs, Taylor made 8mm wires, Hypertech Cap/rotor/coil and Chip.

TB Injectors seem to be squirting fine.

Any suggestions on what to try? Worth getting a new O2 sensor? Engine light is not on and I have not yet checked for other codes.

Thanks for any help!

i don't know whether or not this is your problem, but here in the south you can't let a vehicle sit up with fuel in the tank. when the temp changes condensation builds up in the tank causing rust and water in the fuel system, especially when going through a change in seasons. check your fuel filter for any signs of rust and check the fuel for water. may also need to pull the distributor cap and look for rust in there. a small amount of rust can cause your pickup coil to loose ground. many people go through changing everything they can think of and the culprit be the pickup coil. sitting up is never good on a vehicle exposed to the elements. garaged park cars can go through the same thing if it isn't temperature controlled. you can also try unhooking the battery for about 15 minutes and reseting the computer. good luck. sick

I agree with sick. perhaps after sitting a trip around the block was not enough of a drive cycle and the computer needs to relearn. All you need is disconnect the battery for a minimum of 30 seconds. The lenght of time it takes depends on tempatures. Do you live in antartica or greenland?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I purchased some parts last night and hope to install them tonight. Going to replace the O2 sensor, and the Fuel filter. I'll disconnect the battery while I'm doing the replacements and see if that clears out some stuff.

BTW - I live in SE Michigan. Any one going to the Woodward Dream Cruise?

Only was able to replace fuel filter and disconnect the battery. I also added some STP to help rid any water in the tank. Still runs the same. I am going to syphon out most of the gas and add fresh to see what that does for it too. I did notice that if the RPM went over ~2500, that the car ran fairly smooth. It just takes alot to get it there.
