STARTS FINE AND YOU CAN ACCELERATE BUT AT ANY TIME IT WILL JUST SHUT DOWN THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FILTER HAVE BEEN REPLACED. IT WILL RESTART RIGHT AWAY.

does this occur after the engine is warm or does it happen when it's cold also? Sick

mine has the same problem. especially when its cold. it starts fine no problems but when you accelerate it just not right.

Myself I replaced the fuel filter, IAC, TPS, Exhaust, Air filter to Edlebrock, plugs, wires, 02 sensor, distributer cap and roter and changed the oil. I just bought the car two weeks ago and the guy told me that it was just the pump but I can hear the pump pushing. This is my first camaro and V8. I know general mechanics and can probably do almost everything myself exept internals but I also wanted to know if anyone knew about maybe my cylinder heads being bad because it also smokes white out the back.

More likely than not, it's a head gasket, Cuban. You should test the heads when you replace it of that's the case, but do a cylinder leakdown test first, and see if that's the case. You pretty much just hook an air line designed to go in your spark plug holes into the engine, and into shop air, and see if air is escaping, and where to. If the radiator starts bubbling, it's a head gasket. Test it on all cylinders, just to be sure. Oh, and make sure to take the cap off. There's alot of pressure in those hoses. Alot more than the cooling system should be exposed to.

oh yea and all the zillion codes the computer had I cleared them all when i replaced everything but the engine light comes on too when im driving. when its cold and i have that problem all i do is hold down the accelerater and let it clear out. after it clears out and im able to throttle fast then its ok. sometimes after it warms up and its clear most of the time i put it in drive and it shuts off on me. i have to drive with two feet sometimes. i hate it.lol.. I really want to do an engine rebuild just to get it over with but I dont even know if its worth it. I dont even know what all I need to buy in order to complete the whole rebuild and whether or not I can do it myself which I doubt. Damn and how much would a mechanic charge me in order to rebuild my engine, I'm just an army guy I dont make that much you know..lol
