Yes, you will need the parking brake cables & the proportioning valve from the 9-bolt. Only other items are minor for any swap. Just beware the brake lines may be metric / SAE fittings on the car or rear axle.

That rear went in my 84 and my 91 and had no problems with the lines. Plus yours is an 89 so you should not either. If the rear your getting has the e-brake cables still on it they will hook to the same place as your originals. Just make sure the line configurations are the same on the valve. My 84 had disc and the lines on the valve were in different locations and had either one extra or less than my 91.

well, i got it anyway. it does have the older style brakes but the gears a good to go. with any luck ill be able to get the calipers rotors at work. is it possible to just turn that mounting plate around? or is it different?

i managed to get the rear and the prop. valve. but the parking brake cable was shot so i would need to get a new one anyway.

The mount for the caliper? They should be different. But those calipers should work out for you. The big hang up was the way the self adjust. It uses a screw on the parking brake to turn and extend the piston out. Some times that did not work well and you would have a gap for the piston to travel when braking.

3:27... BUT heres the kicker.. i pulled the cover and found that stamped. no big deal right? but then i looked it and it dosent LOOK like a typical LS type setup.. but i assume it is. almost looks like a open diff. the rotors are on there pretty tight from just sittin around for 10 years. i beat on them with a pretty good sized hammer for awhile and nothing. so i soaked them with PB blaster and ill let it soak over night and give it another shot tomorrow. since i wasnt able to get the rotors off i couldnt try moving the mount for the caliper, but from just a glance... they look the same so ill give it a shot when i get them off. is that the same braket used on the 89 style disc brake or is it different too?

Well if it does not look like a typical open rear then it must be an LS
That should be the cone style LS. I don't think the brakets for the other style caliper are the same. I do have that rear end still burried some where so I could compare. But since you work in a parts house you could maybe get a loaded caliper and try it. First obvious thing though woud be the different and bigger rotors may need a braket that relocates the calipers
