thanks
Is the tranny in there a 700r 4 or a th350/400? If you're running a 700r4, JetChips makes a tranny mod tool that can edit the behaviors of the computer that controlls the tranny, but if it's a th, you're pretty much stuck with hydraulics, and there would be alot more work involved. I wish I could tell you more, but I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of hydraulic transmissions
ok sorry for not telling you earlier but it does have the 700r4 with the electric shifts and it has the speedo is not electric it actually has the cable i have heard that the speeo will tell the comp when to shift also is this true
I don't have the answer to that one off the top of my head, but I do know someone I can ask, and I'm going to see him on Wednesday, so if someone else hasn't replied by then, I may have an answer to that question.
Your 700 is not elctronic. Check your fluid level and if its fine there is a round cover on the side of the trans. Pop it off and check the govenor in there. It has two weights on each side with springs and should move freely.
I was always told that the 700 was a semi coputerized tranny. I've never actually taken one apart, so I've never had the oppertunity to find out first hand. While we're on the subject, what needs to be done to remove that governer without damaging the transmission?
the 700r-4 doesn't shift electronically but, it does have an electronic solenoid to lockup the torgue converter. if your problem is delayed shifting, most likely the solenoid isn't functioning. this can be caused simply by the wires being unplugged from the tranny or less likely a bad solenoid. with the lockup disconnected 700r-4's only shift under high rpm's. why this is i have no idea. i only know it to be a fact from experience. check the connection at the tranny.
