Some cars need to be junked, like this one. Seeing since there's no frame on a third gen, you'd be starting with nothing from your logic.
Maybe you should buy it. It will be a good learning experience when you realize the car is way past saving. At least $300 isn't a whole lot of money to be out of. The car has been picked over. I got a nicer car than that for FREE. It was an 88 RS with a solid body. The guy completely tore the car apart, then realized he was in way over his head. I kept the car on hand for a year for anything I needed, then I stripped everything that was worth keeping and sent it to the junk yard. I doubt that guy even has a title for the car, he sounds like HE knows it's a parts car.
I bought my 83 Z28 with a running 305, complete interior, and solid body (no rust) for $900. That's a big step up from rusted pile of junk with no engine and a beat up/missing interior.

sounds like your trying to build a serious car and you dont even know about finding a good camaro. a 383 is alot of power. and im not talking about the one's you shave a 400 crank and put it in a 350 block. i mean a real mean 383 like your saying.
