Default 83 Dome Light Housing--Please Read!!

So I ran into a problem as I was tracing all of the interior lights in my car. The dome light in my car is missing one of the metal prongs needed to hold the bulb in I have looked online for replacements but everything is really expensive for what it is. Could I attach a replacement metal prong somehow? Or does somebody know where I could find a new harness for cheap? Thanks

Thanks, that site is pretty reasonable, but they don't have what I need. Could I soughter a metal clip to hold the bulb in?

Get some JB weld and mix a little batch. Put some on the broken piece, clip the lamp into the good end, then the broken clip and hold that end together with a clothes pin or other little clamp. Let it set a day. One end of the holder should be ground and the other hot. You are using the three good clips to conduct the power. Hope this works.

thanks for your advice, the only problem is that the clip is missing too. I bought the car a few months ago and just started to fix **** up

I would prefer soldering over JB weld. It can and does work, but I would feel you aren't making a perfectly solid connection with JB, that route is more of holding it together. Honestly if your intention is to restore or fix it, it may be worth it just find that part intact and replace it.

Ive NEVER seen that part gutted from a junkyard car. (yes, I searched several junked Camaro's for the perfect dome light cover) My bet is head to a junkyard. 5 bucks and 20 minutes and yer set.
