Default 73 Nova...I may jump the fence...

Oh boy, hold me back. A guy in the local paper is selling a 73 Nova hatchback for 1500 bucks. He says its got a fresh, cammed 350 and partial new interior. Car is partially disassembled just waiting to go together.....It sounds like he tore it apart, got everything cleaned up and never put it together. Ive wanted a 73 Nova since I was 14.....Im going to go take a look at it this Saturday. Now where do I park the Camaro.....in the garage or in the driveway....so many decisions.......

Beware, sometimes projects that someone ran out of money/lost interest on can be a blessing, but most of the time the turn out to be a huge headache.

Very true! I just picked up a 67 mustang with a fresh 289 in it for 2500. An original AZ garaged car with no rust. I just put a full motor back exhaust on it and it drives like a champ. Just needs interior, little body work and paint. It is a lot of fun, but everything ford is expensive!

Oh yes! I've done quite a bit of work on a 66 mustang with a 289. Aftermarket stuff is a bit pricey, but hell anything you need down to a little factory washer is readily available. Even stock replacement parts are easy to come by. I called down to the parts store and got a master cylinder, hoses, thermostat and thermostat housing, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, points, fuel pump, and a few other parts the very next day.

I went to look at it today. Its going to make a nice project for someone, just not me. The car was solid with almost no rust....however the entire front end clip was removed. The entire interior was gutted and the engine was stripped down to its short block. Everything appeared to be there and in good shape, I just dont have the facilities to store a car AND all its stripped parts next to it. He was asking 1500 bucks, which I think was very fair for such a solid car, but it just wasnt meant to be....

yeah, people do stoopid things to cars, then try to unload...errr, I mean sell them when they lose interest.

like the chick on Craigslist that was trying to sell a Camaro that had a problem with the car alarm going off, so hubby clipped the wires to the VATS system...

now they don't know why the car won't start...

<faceplant against desk>

my 91 may have some clearcoat issues, but its not cut up, ragged out, the cruise control still works, and it cruises at 70, with the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light on.'

hard to find one that someone hasn't taken it apart, lost interest, and is now trying to sell their 1:1 non running project on craigslist or eBay
