Would some one be able to break it down for me (who has done this before) on changing my 5.7 Iroc from granny auto to manual?. What are the to do's and not to do's and some ideas on how much do I need to modify what would be reccomended for a good tranny, is there a 6 speed option, what is the typical rear end in my car and should I change it... I'm not going to be drag racing but I need the ***** to get up and go to avoid the losers on the road (unless I do a roll cage and get push bars)...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.So... all youcamaro CRAZIES, now is when I need ya...

 

A friend of mine changed over his auto camaro to a 6 speed a few years ago. He found a fourth gen in a junk yard took everything that had to do with the tranny pedal assy, hyd assy, and every thing that was connected to the tranny. Since I bought it, the biggest downfall has been that it is automatic, I just don't feel too cool driving an auto, kinda get a mild form of narcalepsy,lol. Thanks again.

I've owned the car since 98 and it just does not have the power I want but I have alot of engine work to do. Since I've owned it I've driven it like it was stolen in a high speed pursuit being tracked by helicopter, so other than that, I do not know of any other way to drive it. I still hate automatic.
