350 turns out to be sb 400
Hey Camaro Enthusiasts
I'm Sam and I've just bought my first camaro. It's an '87 with a blown carburated 305 and has all emissions controls stripped out. It also has a 5-speed manual tranny . Since it's carburated which gen do I belong in?
Since the engine doesn't work and because it's a putzy 305 I decided to buy a rebuilt 350. When I got the engine home and checked the stock numbers I learned that it's actually a small block 400. This could be good or bad what do you think? I've heard that I'll pay a ton for the flywheel that I need ):

you are in the correct generation, third gen is 82-92. sounds like you got a good deal on the sbc 400. as far as a flywheel, it may be a bit hard to find. i think the 400 uses a blanced flywheel, but i may be mistaken. a scrap yard would be a good place to find one.
