well I just learned something. I didnt know the 373 non slip rear was a rarity in these cars. thats what my 5.0 HO had till I put a posi in it.
Do you know the differences between "LIMITED SLIP", POSITRACTIONPosi" and "OPEN REAR" ??????

lol . chill black, all I know is I replaced my limited slip with a posi and didnt realize so few had the limited slipinstalled. am I a Master mechanic and know everything? hell no and will always be **** to errors. and from what I have read you make errors as well, so chill.

so dude what are your plans with your car? are you gonna build it for meets only, do the quarter or a daily driver? if a daily driver spinning the tires is cool, but you have to buy the gas also, ya know, and that can get pricy. for example my 84 is a 305 HO with t5 and 373 posi rear. I plan on only car shows or meets so wil be going with a 350 4 bolt and a TH 350, with plans on making the 350 a 383 stroker in the future( thats why the 4 bolt), but with this non overdrive tranny will never take her onto the hiway. I just wanna spin tires and be loud at the meets.lol.

so you need to decide what you want from your car and go from there from doing researce. thats my input regardles of what others may say. I mean heck a stroker will make just about any rear end spin, and break along with the tranny.lol.

So you are a Master mechanic and you don't know that a "LIMITED SLIP" and Chevrolet tradename for it is "Positraction or to you Posi" are the samething. You may come back saying they are different and I would agree there are different designs but they are all LIMITED SLIPS.

Oh cmon kids, play nice. Lets not turn this into the same atmosphere Ive seen at other forums....

C4maro is obvioulsy new to all this. Painfully new. [8D] Lets not get our panties in a bunch over all this.

C4maro, spend some time online, research your options, start taking your car apart. Thats how most of us here learned. Theres nothing like screwing something up to learn how to fix it!

C4, what you gonna do first? Suspension?
