Default 305 build up stuck

ok so i have posted a thred like this before and well im back here again.
i was origianly gunna carb my 305 but now that i look at it i think keeping it tbi is just as good or better and do not have to bypass the computer to make it carbed.

so im gettin 305h.o heads and a cam that will be sorta mild but still good for a street strip use.
so when i do this im wordering if i can upgrade the injectors in the tbi unit?so that there a little bigger sense the engine will be sucking in more air that it will need more fuel.

and i have been told that i can buy bigger injectors and that i cant so i dont know where to go with this???

Just changing an injector will not fix fuel mapping. The larger injector will have the increase across the board, even at idle. Your upgrades will have little or no effectyour the fuel requirments at idle. There arethree ways to go when modifying a fuel injected car.

One is trick the computer into seeing something that is not there. This is done by putting resistors or adjustable resistors in the wiring. I have even seen controles that could change these resistors based on a program or a input. This is mostly done by trial and error. You are trying to make the senors appear to be with in normal fuel mapping parm so the computer will out put the correct signals and not set a SES light and putyou in LHM. IMO this is a realMickey Mouse way of doing it.But if you are real knowledgeable and are only making small upgrades it is possible and can work.

Two collect all the info on you existing car and all the upgrade you want and send out and get a prom made. The prom is a chip that keeps your fuel mapping data . When done right IMO this is the cheapset way to do it right.

Third is to take the car have have it tuned. They will build a custom fuel mapping for your car based on how it reacts on the dyno. It is by far the best way to get all the possible HP and fuel mileage out of your engine. IMO this is the best way although I am not sure how many people do proms as old as yours.

One thing for sure you WIL NOT be able to do this based on one post. You need to understand how a fuel injection system works. I mean really understand it before you should think about modifying it. If you need to ask which regualtor youshouldget or wheres the best place to find X parts that is a forum board question. If you need to ask"willthis work" you are not ready to plan your upgrade. Its like overclocking a computer if you need to ask question about how then dont do it. Do more research. Trust me it will be worth it.

alright yeah im planning this out before i rip into it and everything.(sound like my dad)=p

so what you are saying is that if i want to put a bigger injector on it i can do so but i will want to tune/program the computer(ecm) differnt?
which that is what i thought i had to do

p.s im sorry for my knowledge on f.i cars learning as i go.
