2004r vs. 700r4??

Default 2004r vs. 700r4??

I have a 2004r transmission in my car currently but i just happen to have a 700r4 on my hands n i would like to know spects on both of them and which one is better? any comments would help thanks

i don't have specs off the top of my head,but anyone of the transmission sites (TCI, B&M, HUGHES) should list them.

I do know the 700R4 has 3.06 ratio 1st and .7 O.D. Thats much lower in 1st than th350's etc.

a lower first gear ration is one that i know, and it can handle nearly twice the power in stock form. stronger gear sets, stronger case, better internals. the later model year 700r4, the better as gm improved it nearly every year
