Default 2.8 rs newbee

My car is not running right, it is not throwing any codes from the computer and i have changed many parts and investigated others. If you think you can help me i will go into more detail. The car runs fine at idle but if i put it in gear and drive it will make it about twenty feet and then just sputter. It does not stall most of the time it just has no power. can anyone help please?

Do the simple things first. Try changing the fuel filter, my guess is that it never has been changed.

I have a 87 camaro rs 2.8v6. I have changed in order,TPS, MAF, vaccum lines, plenum gaskets, fuel filter, fuel pump, filter again, distributer cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs, timing chain with sprockets. I have also looked at the iac and the pintle for that is within limits according to the haynes manual. I am thinking i will test the coil and thecoil pick-up could these be causing this problem?

Hmm could be. How old is the gas? You might want to drain it and throw a tank of premuim and a bottle of seafoam in there, this will clean out you fuel delivery system.

Valves might be sticking, the seafoam will help, also you might need to dig in and see for yourself.......

...... I am assuming your airfilter was changed too and that the timing was set when you changed out the chain and sprockett.....

the gas in the tank is new, i had already bought a can of seafoam but have not put it in the tank yet. I checked my pick-up coil today and it checked good. It was not grounded to the distributer and ohmed out at .876 which is within the limits in the haynes manual. I wanted the car to run a little better before i drove it to the gas station and filled it up and put the seafoam in.
