Newbee
Hello camaro enthusiasts. i have been browsing this site for a while and have found it full of great information. i have a 94 camaro 3.4l with 275k. i have owned this car since new. i am a air force mechanic and have always worked on this vehicle my self (except for tire balancing and alignments). i am on my third clutch, and have installed a solid drive shaft. numerous suspension upgrades. not to mention towing a small boat with her. her time has come for a overhaul. she runs like a top but i have a coolant leak with NO visible leaks on the ground or elsewhere. she has also lost a lot of spunk. So, i am going to give her a top end overhaul. i am in no rush though, she's not my daily driver.
just introducing myself.
thanks chris.

thanks chris.
welcome to the site,
I have owned a 3.4l 5 speed and it was loads of fun but if thats the original motor with 275k on it i would either go crate or completely overhaul the whole motor,ie (valve job, new piston rings, ect ect) just my opinion
cause you will notice a major difference between a new motor and a motor that has 200k+ miles on it.
Just my opinion and good luck and any questions this site has been loads of help

Welcome, Chris, and Thank you and your family for the service.
Congrats on the Camaro service., but I agree with Count, figure on a complete engine overhaul.
Doing just the top end, the short block will fail later.
You may have already, but get a Haynes manual for the Camaro to assist, unless you bought the Helms manuals from the order form in the Owner's Manual.

i would do a compression test before removing heads, if compression shows good then would consider top end. look around you might get lucky and find a low miles 3.4 to play with. go here and download a factory service manual, click on 1994fb http://www.mediafire.com/?40mfgeoe4ctti give thanks to garydoug for these
