Well today I got my new muffler for my 2.8 v6. I found another good thing about my car. It doesnt have anywhere near stock exhaust it has 2.5 in. exhaust from the heads back to my muffler. I just got a new pefrormance street muffler from flomaster and cant wait to put it on. Any comments on my new exhaust please let me know.

 

I have an 89 rs with the 2.8 in it and I was wondering what muffler you got and how it sounded because I am in the market for a new one myself

 

i got 2.5in flowmaster wit 40 series...too loud for an everyday car which it is but i good neighbors though lol... not sneaking around wit it ppl say it sounds like a boat atlow rpms

I have a flowmaster 80 series and its loud but its not too bad. Blaine (84z28)'s car sounds like a boat because his cat is hollowed out so if you have a cat it will sound perfect, if you dont...Be nice to your neighbors.

 

Yeah, my car has 2.5 exhaust all the way back. The complete exhaust is off of an 87 trans am. It's completely stock except for the cat. It's on there but a two inch piece of pipe gutted it out completely and it now has no function. So when I get pulled over for my hood that's two tall and exhaust that's too loud, the cop can look under the car and he won't be able to say anything. I even left the stock muffler on for now. It's gonna be a sleeper.

 

i run my 5.0 with no muffler with stock tips. however, theyre hidden about half an inch below the metal on the body (it looked alright on the lift, but leaves carbon on the bumper). its really not that bad inside until i really dig into it. otherwise, with the radio on, i cant hear it
