1987 350 TBI swap Wiring Help!!
hello, i recently purchased a 87 z28 from a friend and it came with the stock 305 engine but it was no good so i have pulled it out and i recenlty acquired a 350 from a 1993 chevrolet 1500 truck, now im attempting to put into my camaro, i have put the original intake from the 305 and put it on the 350 , now im in trouble cause i forgot where every single wire plug and harness in the engine bay goes and i really need help if anyone can show me a diagram or some setup showing me where each connector plugs into the TBI and everything else i would greatly appreciate it..

the plugs will only fit one sensor. lay it out, with the age, the wiring will be bent towards where it belongs. if you put the original 305 tbi on that engine as well, you will need to change the injectors and prom chip in the ecm for it to be running at 100%

well i do not have the ecm from the gmc 1500, and aslo i was wondering about the Flexplate it is the original one from the 305 will it still work with the 350? what do you mean by change the injectors? it has the orginal Throttle body and Intake and ECM from the 305, wont it work the same ??

The flex plates should match up between the two years, however, check to make sure.
Use as much of the Camaro's parts as you can, you're just swapping out the long block.
If you used everything from the 305 intake manifold up and distributor, and bolted it onto the the 350, use as is for right now to get it running, including the 305 ECM. The ECM will learn to run the 350.

A good tune- necessary any time you go with fuel injection, should run you between $200 and $450, depending where you're located, where you take it, and if, like me, you made the mistake of using a mail-order chip. Do your research, find a shop that knows what they're doing, and bring the car to them. Make sure they know exactly what parts are in your engine (part numbers are good) and let them do their thing.
I tried a mail order chip from pcmforless- gave them the details of my engine down to every last bolt, and wound up running very rich and making less power than I did with my stock 305.

I can burn a chip for $50. It will really "wake" that thing up!
