So I bought this car (
1984 Z28 Camaro) for my first car and it back fired when crossing an intersection. I'm kinda new to driving so this is what happened.

I reached a red light, when it turned green i kinda freaked out (im a new driver) and pressed on the pedal hard enough to burn out. After the slight burn out, the car backfired and died.. Now it doesn't turn on.. any ideas?

 

Are you sure it was a back fire and not the engine blowing? What do you mean by doesn't turn on? Will the starter turn the engine over and it just won't fire up, or does it not turn over at all?
