decklid torsion rods
#2
Didn't know any 2nd gen Camaros had decklid rods? Or do you mean the torsion springs that go hoizontally to hold the trunk lid open? If you mean the otrsion springs, then you should check to see what notch they're in first, as they can be relocated to a different notch to add more spring tension, and save replacing them.

If you find that they do need changed,be careful, they are under high tension. Most people use a bar to take them out of the notch and to put the new one in the notch, and they cover the rear window with cardboard, blankets, and whatever else they can, because if the torsion rod gets away from you,it will swing right toward the rear glass.

torsion rods
thanks a lot guys, I was a little concerned as of the back window being there,
the driver side has plenty of tension but passenger side is very weak even after moving to a different notch
im gonna give it try and let you know how it went

Get some Masonite, or plywood, and after removing the cover you can duct tape the board above the rods to protect the window. That way if one slips it wont hit the glass.
