wondering about hp of a 75 camaro

I actually sent an email to Shell, as I was using Rotella. Not only did they confirm they have reduced the amount of zinc in it significantly, but they also confirmed that the Feds required all oil companies to reduce the zinc levels in diesel oil. There is still zinc in diesel oil, but not enough to do as well as it used to.

I've still got an old 24 qt. case of Valvoline Racing Oil that's in cardboard cans! I picked it up from an old racer locally who was sponsored by Valvoline for $3.00 QT. I bought every can he had (about 30 qts.) and have been using it also.

oil here i think goes up every years think its 7 dollars for a qt of regular old synthic and i think diesel old is 10 dollars or more and idk if the choke is hooked up gonna have it rebuilt gonna try to spray sum carb cleaner in hoping to clear it out car has been sitting over a year before i got it

But I like my Mobil 1 synthetic oil. I get a 5 qt bottle for $25 from Waldomart ($5/qt.). A bottle of STP oil treatment (which has the right amount of ZDDP) is $4.69. That makes 5+ quarts of treated oil come out to be $5.94/quart. Normally I wouldn't put an additive into Mobil 1, but only for the ZDDP.

just cant will till snow is gone and streets r clean and get to take my camaro out for my frist drive ive never droven a muscle car before unless u call a 91 camaro a muscle car hah that thing was such a piece smoked and leaked every fluid in it when u would move it there would be a few drops of everything the car was put together like **** had a 350 with a 5 speed tranny was shot u could drive it but wouldnt shift right played with it all the time and the 350 barely ran no matter what u do with it always was cleaning it out and adjusting it had no power at all gave the car away couldnt sell the pos but i traded a bigger pos for it haha

You should ditch the carb SPACER. Fix the choke. Tune your carb and secondaries/fuel pressure/ignition system check.
I am only guessing here but it should be 34*to 36* degrees TOTAL maybe less whatever runs best.
Also just wondered how you get 9.5:1 static compression ratio with 64cc? What is the total Quench height?
Block deck height?, piston cc and type?, gasket thickness?
What is the rod length?
Is it 0.030" overbore? Or 4.030" bore size? (thardy ower 3fiddy)
Is the crank 3.75" stroke? 3.48" stroke? 3.5" stroke? 3.88" stroke
What is your rear axle ratio?
Your cam- is it the HR276? (HR276-2S-12lG) ?
214/222 @.050" (276/284 advertised. 112 LSA) .488"/.509" gross lift.
1.5 or 1.6 roller rockers?
Exactly 9.5:1 compression?
If exactly 9.5:1 and not rounded up, this cam is on the low side but above the sweet spot in Dynamic compression but is IN there good @7.7:1 Dynamic, witch is good for power on pump fuel. Even though the site says 8.75:1 static compression compatible.
I would step up a notch-
1)Keep carb (& a slim-maybe use VICjr vortec test both) & pocket port the bowls of the vortec heads and port match to intake and headers, port polish the exhaust runner
(Maybe add a 1.6 ex. valve and maybe even a 2.02 in. valve only if unshrouded and different pistons used- raise compression 10:1 & under, maybe xr282 cam for 10:1+ but oops now may need 750cfm).
2) Use the CompCams XR276HR cam instead, with your same 9.5:1 static compression ratio. This extra under the curve duration helps a 383 and the roller cam as rollers don't outperform a hyd. until more than 224*
(224*/230*@ 0.050" & 276*/282* & 0.502"/0.510" standard rockers 110-LSA / 106 ICA)
2200 stall 3.23-3.73 gears. All '276' cams are not the same But the dynamic compression remains the same. Can use up to 10.4:1 static compression ratio max.
3) Smile at dyno sheets and the insane TORQUE madness.
4) Food for thought maybe you broke their dyno. LOL.
+Because your car runs and sounds pretty good from the video and its awesome.

I have done one of the 383/377 with ported vortec heads and the XR 276 HR cam. Has got to be one of the best and most cost efficient motors out their. This thing ran 110mph in a totally clapped out monty carlo. Kid had no idea what a drag race set up was, just stab and steer. If you can get a good vortec block and heads the total combination IF you DO IT YOURSELF can come in under $1200.

i dont know anything about the motor build didnt see much about it in receipts i just got the car few days ago and i think the carb is gumed up cuz idle was bouncing from 500 to 700 rpm only once in a while not all the time so im gonna spray sum carb cleaner in and hope it clears out and runs better cant wait till u can start it and press the gas without stalling out

rockers r comp cams 1.5 he had on 1.6 but was hitting the valve covers and ig shortly after 2 rods snaped and they tore it apart and cleaned it out and rebuilt the heads and yes that is the cam its running in the paper work it says it has pink rods idk what that means double roller timing chain at one point they said it had less then 10.1 compression and now its crossed out also it has a fuel guage and it bounces from 6 psi all the way up to 8.5 cuz ig they put in a 8.5 psi fuel pump and has speed-pro hypereutectic alum pistons stl-h345np 4' bore flat top with recessed valves with crome molly rings
