Are you stripping the whole thing? Or just trying to remove the clear coat?

well i was just going to remove the clearcoat but the person who had the car before me did a bad job painting it so all the paint is cracked, and it's not just in a few spots i'm talking all over, so i thought it'd be best to strip everything and start over, what do you think?

if its cracking you will need to strip it all the way or it will just continue cracking

With it cracking you'd be wise to strip it all. I would recommend a stripper at that point. Sand what you can't strip. Do your body work, if any. Primer, then Paint.

carful using a sand blaster on large areas. It can heat up the metal and push a warp. If you are not disassembling the car carful with the chemical. You get any down in a seam and you can not neutrilize it it will rust out that area very quickly

I would not bother with the DA until you are leveling your build up work. Pads like this strip off paint real fast and hold up for some time.

Oh yea we have a Garage area for this type of talk
