hey guys i was wondering what the best way was to remove paint from the body of my 79 camaro z, i've been told to use paint stripper and then DA it a little but then i've been told i could also sandblast it, if anyone could recommend a good way to remove paint i would appreciate it, thanks!

well i was just going to remove the clearcoat but the person who had the car before me did a bad job painting it so all the paint is cracked, and it's not just in a few spots i'm talking all over, so i thought it'd be best to strip everything and start over, what do you think?

carful using a sand blaster on large areas. It can heat up the metal and push a warp. If you are not disassembling the car carful with the chemical. You get any down in a seam and you can not neutrilize it it will rust out that area very quickly
I would not bother with the DA until you are leveling your build up work. Pads like this strip off paint real fast and hold up for some time.
