Default ignition switch actuator?

I somehow broke the ignition switch actuator on my 74. Any familiar with this type of scenario?

I guess not, cause I don't even know what a ignition switch actuator is? Do you possibly mean the ignition switch tumbler?

Don't think so. It's the metal piece which connects the ignition switch lock cylinder gear to the rod that pulls on the ignition switch

The dealers only sell them for 76's bcuz that as far back as their parts system goes. Maybe I'll find the part # or maybe i can use the 76. In the mean time i'm applying an industrial JB Weld type of substance. Here goes nothing. Oh yeah, the dealer down here is showing only 3 left in the world for 76. Of course everything down here is all messed up since hurricane katrina....

Correction. Its called a rack rod according to a chevy parts department employee. Its discontinued but should be the same in any chevy up to 78 w/o tilt steering. The search continues.....

Checked Ecker's, nothing. I wonder if it'll be in a new steering column? I found a rack and gear combo in the help section @ car quest. Doesn't fit. Gonna modify it. Thanx for the suggestions. When you guys get a chance check out Glen's 74 Camaro on youtube. It's my inspiration.

FYI; the piece is called an ingnition swich actuator only if you have a tilt steering wheel. If you don't, its a gear rack.
