Default ignition switch

My 2001 camero 3800 appears to be having ig switch issues. When turning the key there is absolutely no response. it's acting as it did last year when the passive anti theft syst malfunctioned. i had to bypass that system and everything was ok until now. The vehicle is parked in the lot at my work and I need to get the vehicle home. What is the procedure to bypass the switch to get it started one more time and how difficult is it since I do not have any tools with me. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Question

is the security light on again?? if it is try this...Had to do this recently and it worked for me

Insert the key and turn it to Run but don't try to start the engine.
Leave the key on in Run for a minimum of 10 minutes.
Then turn off the key, remove it.
Re-insert it and start the engine.

If that doesn't clear the security light it's worn key tabs, or a BCM issue.
