Default Cam change question??

I'm just kinda thinking out loud here.

I'm currently using this cam in my 385 stroker, in sig. below. It has lighting quick responds, bruttle low end and mid range torque. It's a GREAT street cam in my setup and pulls pretty well up to 56/5800 RPM.

•PT# 60102 Voodoo 262/268
•Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 262/268
•Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 219/227
•Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .468/.489
•LSA/ICL: 112/108
•Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
•RPM Range: 1400-5800

I was wondering how much more power this cam will give me with my current setup. Will I lose much low end torque and/or any responsiveness with this cam?

•PT# 60103 Voodoo 268/276
•Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 268/276
•Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 227/233
•Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .489/.504
•LSA/ICL: 110/106
•Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
•RPM Range: 1800-6200
•PT# 60103

Again, I'm just toying with the idea. What do you guys and/or gals think? Setup is in my sig. below.

Thanks, NYH1! :bowtie:

I replaced my timing chain and gears the other day and if your lookin at it from the front the left side is super tight and the right side is kinda loose is that normal

The chain tension should equal out on both sides after everything spins around a few times.

A bigger cam will only give more power if the heads can feed it. Otherwise it may accomplish nothing or even cause the power to go down. Head and cam characteristics need to be matched for best results.

That's nothing at all to be concerned about. One side has more tension on it because of the direction you were rotating the engine. One side will be tight because of the pulling load, and the other side will have slack. It's the same as on a bicycle, when pedaling, the top of the chain will be tight because of it pulling while the bottom has slack.
