Default Altenator for 78 Camaro w/350

Is th standard 63 amp or 96. I know the three wire is standard but what does the one wire altenators do? And do the starters come in a single wire option if there is an advantage to it. As far as power options, I don't think I will do powered/windows locks. Just a loud (not bumping) stereo.

Is there a safe, no worry amperage?

A 78 Camaro should have an internal regulated alternator. The first generation of these alternator produced 63 amps. There were higher output unit available in the mid 80's. The newer ones will fit with a little modifications to the mounts. The case of the higher output alternator is slightly larger so the upper arm will not fit properly. If you just have power windows and a nice stereo then get a good quality battery and the stock 63 amp alternator should function just fine for you.
