Default 327 swap, good headers & carb?

Hello, I'm swapping a 327ci (Gen1) into my 77 Camaro and would like to know of a good set of headers to go with it that are reasonably priced. The 327 has 10.5/1 compression, forged pistons, bigger cam (which I have the specs but id have to find the sheet), and roller rockers paired with 4.56 gears in the rear. I was looking for something that had good low end and mid range power curve, so any suggestions or headers that you've had good luck with I'm open too! I also could use a new carburetor so if you have any suggestions as far as carbs go that'd be great too! Thanks

I run a set of Doug Thorleys big tube headers on my 1979 Z-28 RS Camaro. And I have also run Hookers ,and Headmans. There are all sorts of carbs out there. But you can never go wrong a Holley 3310 Vacuum carb,They are quite tune-able as well.

I like the Holley, but you want to be a tinkerer to be a Holley guy. Not that they need constant maintenance, just they are more complex than say an Edelbrock which is more of a plug & play carb. Nothing wrong at all with Edelbrock.
I'd say header recommendations are more of a preference based on personal experience/luck/success. Unless they've changed their ways, Hooker has/had always been known as the brand that "fits". They are pricier though, maybe not the most expensive. I haven't heard anything bad about house brands like Summit, probably get what you pay for. I'm running the Flowtech Afterburner headers, they're a little different and I liked the concept....if it really works as they say it does. I got the ceramic coated ones, but I'm not totally impressed with the finish. They stayed clean and rust free, but they turned dull. Other brands I've seen have a nice shine and kept it. I need to try hitting it with a different polish, I tried Flitz on an area and it made it a little more dull.

I have an Eldelbrock 625 Carb on my 1981 El Camino SS.Pro-Touring truck. It has a 290 HP 350 crate engine ,Turbo 350 trans and 3:42 gears .With a set of Flowmaster "shorty' headers that I had Cermi-chromed ,and flow master mufflers .I have tuned those as well .You just have to get the needles and jets to do so. Its all depends on what you are most comfortable with.Good luck to you.

hmm yeah I was leaning toward hooker headers as well, always have heard good about them, as far as price goes I don't mind, but I'm not about to spend over 500 on them either due to the fact I'm building a 383 right now and the 327 is only temporary. and if an Edelbrock is more of a "plug and play" ill probably look into what they have,Thanks

A few years ago I was thinking about putting a smaller cam in the 67. While the car was fun to drive and wanted to go, pulling out smoothly with a 2 year old in the back seat was a challenge. After some online research I though I would try a Holley Street Avenger because it is suppose to improve drivabilty and is ready to go out of the box. I got a great price on a 670 through a speed shop on ebay. It did exactly as it said, car drove better at light throttle and it felt great right out of the box.
