Default 305 chevy cam break in lube?

I have a 1979 305 , 30 over and all new everything machined and ready for reassembly , question is I coated the cam with Comp cam 103 lube (Link provided) prior to install and dang that stuff is so thin it ran right off the lobes which makes me wonder if I should find thicker lube that will actually stick to the lobes. Any suggestions on cam break in lube? Thanks in advance!

Add a can of GM EOS (Engine Oil Supplement) and/or high-zinc oil.

yes, definitely get some expensive cam break in lube, although if it is a hydraulic cam get the cam deep nitrided to harden it, although this only works well when it is done exactly perfect. but i have decided to go retro roller cams altogether, to help guard against cam break in failure, because the break in goes a lot smoother and greater chance of success from untrained or unprofessional gear head or self builder, although many are pro or trained lol. the roller cams are harder. Also light weight roller lifters are a great idea like endurance type and they are stronger and way more expensive oh well, its worth it. Use conical springs with a rate that works with the cam, conical spring rates are different than other type springs although, not by much. sorry for such a late response , at least it isn't 10 years later, a bunch of us responded to thread 10 years later and i was like , oops. and we got scolded lol. it was interesting though, besides reading an old thread that is relevant and revived i always think is good and ok for any new readers reading it. well, Hope this helps. and hope everyone is still with us. Study, balance, and get all your cell salts, and correct your deficiencies, Gargle with salt water, use and drink lemon juice, drink frozen vegetable water that has thawed the vegetables when they were poured into the boiling hot water. De-grease roast water broth and drink it. Get real masks in case they are needed. painters masks and gas masks. well hope everyone stays well and safe. And wish everyone well. And hope yall do the same.
