Question Tenant left an L-22 + TH Transmission in warehouse space they vacated. What it worth?

I am a landlord and I had a tenant move out of their warehouse space in middle of the night. They left owing me a lot of money and said I could sell everything left in the warehouse and apply that to the back rent.

One of the things they left was an L-22 + TH Auto Transmission from a 1976 Camaro. He said it runs and the transmission was rebuilt 30k ago.

I had no idea what to do with this thing so I came to the Camaro Forums!

I've got an ad up online offering it for $500. What is this thing worth? Bottom line, I need it gone by the end of next week. What is the best way to get rid of it if I get no buyers? Will a junkyard or recycle give me money and come pick it up?

Engine is located in Frederick, MD.

I can't post pictures yet, when I get to 3, I will post.

Thanks!

Very little interest in that engine and trans, unless someone has the same and wants to stay with a inline 6. Most scrappers would love to have both, but I doubt they'll pay much if they have to come and get it.

Thank you for the information, the market is confirming this as I have not seen any action at my offering price of $500.

I'd drop the price a couple hundred to see if it goes. It's better than giving it away, or paying someone to haul it off. If I want something gone I list it locally, and keep dropping the price until it's gone. I've got a buddy who does scrap metal, so sometimes I get to a point I give him a call, and just split what he gets for it with him on his next run.

That's just what I did. Dropped it to $300 and got a call. We agreed on a price and a time and then he called an hour before and said that he was backing out.

Just dropped the price again to $200. We'll see how it goes. If I don't get any takers by the end of the weekend, I'm giving it away to a guy I know with a restoration & body shop.

Glad you got it sold, and didn't have to give it away, or pay to haul it off.

That's interesting. Any updates regarding the pictures. I was browsing some classic Camaro diagrams earlier so I'm in the mood for this stuff right now
