Warehouse find
Had a 74 Camaro in high school, and have been pursued other marquees since.
I had a guy approach me about one of my project cars. While I went to his warehouse for a different car, I just about feel over myself over a 68 Camaro he has. I attached pics because I know pics tell the story better than I could.
What I know. Odo shows 71,xxx, don't know how many times that has rolled over. Engine is said to be a 327. Interior has a Deluxe steering wheel, auto trans. I don't know if the engine runs or not. Since it hasn't run in so long, I would do all fluids prior to any start attempts.
Owner hasn't registered the car in years, and so I am likely to pay some heavy registration fees.
What is this car worth? Any idea on how much to offer? I am getting married in a few months and have no business buying a car, but this was a beauty I just can't take my eyes off.
Oops, no attachments for me. I will do photobucket and show the car.

looks very similar to mine when i found it but mine has numbers matching 327 the power glide was swapped for a muncie m20 back in 84 and a 10 bolt posi .
got mine from the 2nd owner 75 year old gal and she had a copy of the title when she bought it in 84 with 71,XXX miles and it had 74,XXX miles on it when i bought it and she told me it sat in her garage since 86.
she let me help her grandson change fluids and get it started and to my shock it fired right up with just a small amount of blue smoke which cleared up in a few minutes.
the paint seems a tad better on mine.
they wanted 12,500 i paid 9400
i would say if you can get it non running for 6-8 you might be good to go.
but make sure to check the floors, trunk pan, etc.. for rust issues and find out why the rear quarter has all the primer on it or is it just the enamel paint flaked off???
check the number on the pad in front of the drivers side head above the water pump leg to see if it matches the vin on the dash??
also get the numbers and letters off the cowl tag by the brake master cylinder.
here is mine the day i bought it

What state? Its not the registration fees you will have to pay, its the back taxes from it not being registered. Some states put the vehicle in archive if taxes are not paid after so long. If it is local you can get the VIN and call your local DMV and find out how much back taxes are going to be and use that as a negotiating factor.
If your state works like IL here does, you won't owe back fees for anything. They just go by the date of sale that's written on the title.
That is when you took ownership of the car, and are only responsible for the time from that point on. Done that too many times.
Once it's in your name and you let it sit for years, then they can ding you.

Another couple of years and I gotta find one of those to build with my son. He is only 11 right now but he can't have mine! Ha! Man, the heart gets beating when you open the barn door on one like that, doesn't it!
Find a way to involve the bride to be on it or you will be single like me!
Good luck!
