whats easier 4 speed install in or out

Default whats easier 4 speed install in or out

this weekend or next am going to put my motor (396) in my 68 when i got it the 4 speed was still hooked up, so never installing a 4 speed before whats easier with it in the car or taking it out and any tips would be great

Out of the car is the way to go there!!!!

IMHO, I would install the motor in the car first (with the clutch and bellhousing on it, with the clutch assembly properly aligned) then install the 4 spd. a 4 spd is light enough to handle fairly easy with out a transmission jack. this way you don't have the length and bulk to deal with as you would with them together.

millpond, are you posting from your phone where you can't see the dates of the previous post, to know this one is over a year old with outdated info?
