I recently bought a 1980 Camaro with a "rebuilt" 350 turbo trans, well it shifts like ****, I’m pretty sure the guy I bought it from installed it improperly, but the problem is when I peg the accelerator it just revs up and stays at the top of the tack (or so I assume, tack is broken) but it just revs up really high and will not shift for a good 5-6 seconds, also the transmission has a B&M Mega shift ratchet shifter installed, I believe he installed that improperly as well because I cant even manually shift it down into first gear, just to second and drive, anyway, I don’t know much about transmissions (clearly) any help would be greatly appreciated, hopefully I don’t have disassemble everything and attempt to install it again, thanks for any help.

 

The first thing you should check is the setting of the TV cable. The Thorttle Valve cable, not the one you use to watch TV. LOL
