Default th350 broken ear

I was putting the motor back in my camaro today and when i was tightening the bellhousing bolt the ear cracked off. It's the one on the drivers side above the alignment pin hole. It was a clean break and the rest of the housing seems ok is it possible to run without that bolt or do i need to get the ear welded back on. Thanks.

I'd make some calls to some of the shops around your area and see if some one could do an onsite weld for a reasonable price. If something broke and we just overlooked it until the part failed....

We would all drive hondas with fart-cans....

The worst you might haft to do is pull the engine back out and lower your trans a bit.

I was actually bolting them together out of the car I got ahead of myself and didnt realize it was in a bind til it was too late. I'm picking up another th350 today and going to take it the other and get fixed and keep it as a spare.

I had that happen to me too, its most likely cause the converter wasn't pushed all the way in, we just took the trans to a welding shop and had the guy weld the tab back on. Double check that converter, it has to push in twice, push and turn it, you'll feel it move on the input shaft, then turn it some more and you'll feel it bottom out, you should be golden then. good luck
