Default Rough Estimate for Synchro(s) Replacement?

Hi, wondering if a couple people could throw out a rough estimate on what a shop (in Kentucky) should charge to replace synchro(s) in a Saginaw? Should all be replaced at once while it’s torn down?

How equivalent is this all to a total rebuild? And if thats the case - is a Saginaw even worth a rebuild? 🤔

It is numbers matching.

Tyvm!

I doubt you'll find a shop that will just do syncros,if it's coming apart it should get a proper rebuild with all new bearings and each gear at least inspected for wear and or replaced as needed.

If you plan on any real power I'd replace it with a Muncie or T-10 but keep it since it's numbers matching.
If the car is basically stock a rebuilt Saginaw would be fine and likely be a lot less money.
You're probably going to pay around $1000 for a rebuild, probably double that to get a Muncie.

Thanks Y2K, this all makes sense and is very helpful- just the info I was looking for. I’ve read a bit about the weaknesses of a Saginaw with any kind of power in front. Moderate power is the plan, so I’ll talk to my local transmission shop about replacement options.
