Need to rebuild my transmission (Numbers Matching '67 Camaro)
I have a numbers matching 1967 Camaro (60,000 original miles) that needs a transmission rebuild. I'm in Sacramento, CA and I'm looking for a shop that I can actually trust to rebuild my transmission. I DO NOT want to replace it (which is what my boyfriend is telling me to do) because everything on this car is original even the paint. The cheapest estimate that I have gotten for it is 1300 but I would have to take it out myself and I'm not the best mechanic and I really don't want to mess anything up... But I also don't have a lot of money to do this. Please help! I'm really tired and seeing my baby just sit in my garage!

Welcome to the Club, Cowgirl.
More than likely a Powerglide.
Talk/ask a local Camaro or car club and see what suggestions they have.
You might be able to barter - a couple club members, or more, could come over for a transmission removal/install party with all the fixins'
Worth a shot

to own a car like that cost money ,so you may want to have the money you need to do things right, a down grade.to a car you can afford, thats why I own 4th gen car ,I also am lucky to have a friend that works on all first 2 gens on up ,go out an find them at car shows icecream shops malt shops that part of cal must have tons of places that work on them check out there reviews an what other classic car owners think $1300,00 sounds right for out there ,now just find trans shop that will install it ,if you cant afford the car then save save save till you can + another trans wont save you that much money ,if you want to keep it just remember its at a cost
