I will be putting a 5 or 6 speed into my 72. It has a worn 75 vett motor in it and an auto, the car was originally a 4 speed. So I am going to make a change over.

I have a 12 bolt with 3.08 gears, and 350-400 horses, what transmission would work or is a gear swap a better fit because of the trans selections available. Are the 3.08's too high for a final gearing depending on what transmission is selected.

What 5 speed are you thinking? the termec aftemarket one is the only one I know of that will hold up to that HP.
