Default Tire size for second generation camaro

Alright someone out there has got to be able to help me. First of all ive got an '80 camaro. I want to know how big of a rim, tire i can get in the rear wheelwells. From my understanding a 5.5" backspacing on a 15x10 rim will work, but with a small tire. The only problem area seems to be is toward the front of the wheelwell, where the inside of the tire will rub on a small section of the fenderwell. I will probably end up rolling the fenderlip, but need more room on the inside. Has anyone trimmed that area? Is it enough room to run say a 15x10" with 6"of backspace with a 28x12.5-15 Mickey thompson ET street tire. or possibly a 30"???Someone out there has slightly modified their wheelwells to get bigger tires. Please help me to see what its going to take to get a decent size tire in there without extensive modification.
