Hotchkis A Arms Having Bad Camber Adjustment
Has anyone had trouble getting your wheel alignment once you have installed Hotchkis tubular A arms on a 1970 Camaro.
I found out that with out any sims installed on your chassis they have a built in 3 degree negative camber. This maybe OK for the track , but its very bad for tire life on the street, and you cannot get it any better than that

I had a similar problem on my '01 using a UMI K-member and lower arms with Global West upper arms(long story)with built in camber like yours.
I found a really good alignment shop that does a lot of custom work and he modified a new set of tie-rod ends to make it work.
I think he sent them out to a machine shop buddy of his to have them shortened and re-threaded if I remember right.

Thanks. Mine are around an inch shorter than factory A Arms. Normally after market manufacturers will just shift the location of the top ball joint back ( caster for high speed stability ) and leave the camber alone . If they were left correct you can just put shims in to get race track camber settings.
Hotchkis would not send me the corrected new pair ( they want to re charge me ). I will see if Summit Racing is a more honorable company ( as I purchased them from them ) and send me the replacement set
