Default Trade 71 Ford Pick-up for a 79 Camaro??

Well I almost had a project car today but backed off. I just am new to Camaros. I know everything there is to know about an old Ford truck and I have over 10k into mine and this guy wanted to trade me straight up for a 79'. I dont believe it was a Z28. It had Z28 marks but had drum wheels in the rear and I think the Zs have disk? It looked like an old novice resto job. The pant on it was bad. Drips and a little wavy. The door handles were off and filled in which was lame. The blinkers didn;t work. I guess thats minor stuff but my truck has working blinkers and door handles.

I looked under the car and it was undercoated. Kind of a sloppy job i pulled the carpet up and the floor seemed solid the trunk wasnt rotted but was in need of repair. Any idea what these cars are worth? I checked on NADA and my truck was valued at 7700 and this car was at 6100. I just didnt feel comfortable so I walked. I been trying to sell my truck since Nov. Would this car be easier to sell down the road if I wanted to? the guy was all over my truck for sure so I could get this car....I probably should have took some pictures. Let me know what you guys think.

From what you are saying I doubt that the camaro was worth anything close to $6100. Do you have any pics of the camaro? What motor and trans did it have? Get a pic of cowl tag and check numbers.

Pics always help, get pics of both the truck and car for propper advice. All my Z28's iv owned had rear drums, i think your thinking of T/A's with the rear disk? either way, both vehicles will just go up in value but IMO the Camaro will be more desireable for a resale. More you put into it, more you get back but also the more you loose as well lol. we never can get what we put into these things but we do get more the nicer it is.
