The engine as it sits now...it will be gone through, but it is fine as pulled, just needs details. The interior needs new dash pad. I've checked all wiring and installed the under dash guages in to the stock dash (pic later) and the drivers side frame rails cleaned and POR 15'd. Ready for shiney parts.
Lots of powder work and sanding to come!!!

Some more stuff
Spring powder coated in "almost chrome" and misc black brkts and bolts.
Does this rubber thing belong in my spring??
Found some surprises when I pulle the nose. Fender skins have patches. Inner fenders left rusty. also hole in the heater box next to the inner.(could help explain the stink of exhaust!!
And a rotten lower core support. Thankfully not too difficult to repair!

I promised a pic of the dash. I removed the stock guages and installed aftermarket guages in thier place. Surprisingly not very difficult. I think this will clean up the interior and keep me well informed!

Very nice looking dash! Easy to read gauges are something we take for granted and don't always notic until their replaced. The rubber (probably poly) piece is a spring spacer to take care of spring sag. If you reused the stock springs and the ride height was good before, then you should put them back in. If you want it an inch lower, then leave them out when you reasseemble.

Cool I was happy with the height and ride.. Now can you explain what that fooliosh looking flaper thing on the cowl really does? And where is the water that drains into the cowl supposed to come out?

Not sure what flapper thing you're referring to. The water that gets into the cowl area is direct to a drain that's near the passenger side ans simply drains onto the ground. Often times the drain gets plugged with dirt and small particles and then the cowl fills up causing it to rust out. This especially prevalent on vehicles that sit outside a lot, aand sit under or near trees.
An occasional removal of the cowl screens and poking a small flexible wire or rod down the drain will keep it clear, but if it stays garaged once it's restored you'll probably never need to open the drain. My car has been garaged most of it's life and never has plugged up.
