Did some more powder work and measured crank clearance today. I'll be replacing bearings. Have some minor scoring, but .003 clearance. .002 is max.
VC before going into the oven and after.
crank pulley and intake manifold.

Looks really great! Do you have an old house oven, or one of those high class real powdercoating ovens? If I had room I'd get an old oven to do parts, but not sure where I'd put one at this point.

I have an old house oven that I built a box to double it's size. It's a pregnant oven.
I do small parts in a toaster oven.

some more parts done,I want to finish up all this small stuff I have around before I tear the shortblock down.
In retrospect I probably should have left the PS pump alone!! Just cleaned and painted.

I rebuilt my PS pump also, but it was leaking, and I wanted to keep the early style pump with the round body, and oval filler area. Was more of a pain than I thought, but pretty inexpensive for the kit.

Where did you get the alt. kit? I usually have to buy the pieces separate.

Thanks. The alt kit was from autozone. About $20.00. They had to order it.
