Our spindles are perfect the way they left the factory, so I'm told. The stock 1st gen ones are the ones that need help. I've even read to not use lowering spindles because there is no need.

My wheel/tire combo is exactly the same except my front are 245's and the BS is 4.8". I hope you don't rub, customs can't be returned. Funny thing, mine were a three week wait through Discount Tire. They also price matched and I got them for online prices after Mich. sales tax. No shipping free mounting and balancing and chrome valve stems. I have bought 5 sets of tires there though, I don't know if they were just keeping me happy.

Sounds like were rolling the same stuff essentially. I want to see yours because I want to see how they look in the front. I want to run a 9" wheel up front really. With a 275 or so on it. That's a foot print. I hear the Proxies are about as good as it gets for a performance street tire. Tons of grip. I don't know how the ET streets will like corners, in a straight line they hook well.

I really am hoping to get the big brakes put on the front when i get home and if i am able to i will roll the fenders with the new fandangled eastwood fender roller tool and slap on the rubber. My next time home i am there for almost 5 weeks and only one of the weeks are spoken for a trip down to Phoenix.

Now that i seem to have some more time on my hands with nothing to do in the pm i am going to track down the correct MSD parts that i need to use my 6AL with the HEI that came on my motor. I think you gave me all the info i need earlier on. I had sent MSD a question through their site but never got a response so i think i will just order the parts and be done with it. They are cheap so worst case scenario i would have to reorder. At least it is one more thing checked off of the list.

The fender lip roll will help, but you might also have to massage the back surface of the front inner fenderwell. I used to run wider tires on the front of my '71, but they always rubbed on that area when I was turning and hit the slightest bump.

Yeah i will do whatever is needed, 245 isnt that wide for the front, currently i have 225s and there is a toooon of room. On the rear everything i read says i am going to have to hammer out the rear seatbelt hump and roll the fender. To be honest i dont even know where the rear seatbelt hump is because i havent crawled under there to look since i found this out.

Got the girlfriend to look at the bill of sale for the rims and tires, there isnt even an email address on the bill which pi$$es me off because i want to know when they are going to arrive to Canada. I have a buddy that is going down past that way this weekend and it would be sweet if i could get him to pick up the rims and tires for me.

Not sure an early 2nd gen will have any clearance issue with the rear seatbelt mount. I haven't had any issues with inside clearance on the back of mine, regardless of what wheel/tire I've ever had on there. Even my racing slicks cleared fine.

Any chance of selling the Eastwood tool when your done? There are a couple of us here that were going to go in on one. After we all use it we have no need so getting it used would help. The seat belt hump in in line with the rocker almost, if you follow that line with your eye. You'll see it as soon as the tire go on. It will be the closest thing to the tire besides the springs and the fender lip.
