Nice. My electronics prof. told me he used to work at the plant where they welded the sub frames. He couldn't stop laughing. He tells me those guy were making 15 bucks an hour back in the early 70's and pumping out garbage like that.
Its looks a little crowded in your shop, you should add on or something.

15 bucks a hour! dam My dad was telling me his first job in like 74 he was making like $2.75 a hour. Thats crazy and they didn't even do a good job lol.
I would like to add another 12' on the side to have a place to park cars. I run my business out of this shop, so yeah it gets packed sometimes. I had to wait 6 weeks before I bring the camaro over to start working on it cause I had no room. However I seen other guys garages so small that the car hardly fits in there and they still manage to do work, so I'm not complaining.

Heck my garage is so small that I did my whole build on the Camaro in the driveway out front! Had to make sure I could push or drive it back in every night. Once the weather gets good I'll be back out in the driveway doing the final phase of the Camro rebuild; the suspension. I plan on going through everything front to back and upgrading or replacing it all.

Hell I would just like to have a place that I can work on my cars with out having to worry about the manager crawling up my backside every time I have the hood open. She called a tow truck for me one day because my battery was dead in my Cutlass. By the time she came over with the tow truck I had replaced the battery and the car was running. What she does not know is how many brake jobs I have done there under the light of a 500W halogen work light!!

I got lucky with the shop. I think thats why it's taken me so long to start working on this thing I never felt like I had a good place to work on it. Yeah I guess I'm spoiled with the lift and all. But it's necessary for my business. I give you guys props that have done more with less.

It was a joke. I'm sitting on 24x32 and I think its perfect for one car. I just have it packed floor to ceiling at the moment. That will change soon though, my roll away is literally sitting in the driveway right now. Now I can put some tools away. After I get something to eat a a little rest I'll be out there getting my chit together.
As for your subframe welds. I'm going to email the to my prof. He promises pics of frames stacked 15' high one rail cars. He still swears that they layed nice long welds. I told him if my boss was anywhere in sight I would weld nice too. As soon as he was gone I would be making my rate as fast as I could.

i figured you might be joking but I really do what to add on to the place someday. yeah that would be cool to see those pics
Ok so I have a question for you guys. I bought solid body mounts and the more I think about it I am starting to think they aren't a good idea anymore. Does anyone have any experience with solid body mounts? Pro vs cons. I am thinking about returning them and just getting stock rubber ones. I don't know.

For a daily driver I'd go poly. Stock rubber are quiet, but will leave you wanting a better feel. Poly is a good compromise.
