Cobalt Blue 79z28
thx val i appreciate ur input i was hoping someone would help me decide, the 400 turbo it is but not until i have the manual valve body installed, maybe i can do that myself,im also running a 3500-3800 high stall torque converter, maybe i need to tame that down a little for the street.my engine is pretty tame and doesnt need to rev much makes maximum horse at 5200 rpm,and maximum torgue at 4100.thx all for ur input
Automatics are always faster in the 1/4 than any stick, a long as they're in good condition and don't slip. No way anyone could shift a stick and not lose some tiny bit of time. Don't know much about your tire choice, but some sort of street legal drag radial would alway do better in the 1/4 than a strictly street tire. Of course you could just buy some slicks and spare wheels to put on at the drags; that's what I did on my Camaro.
thats good steve cant wait to see ur car all finished bet its gonna be a beauty.

The manual kit in my Camaro is a Transgo. It was very easy to intall. Not familiar with Turbo Action, but have heard good things about Hughes. The Hughes manual reprogramming kit is only $114. at Summit:Hughes Performance HP3206 - Hughes Performance Valve Body Reprogramming Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com

yeah had that engine professionally built by sprint car racer, never expected it to make that much horse especially with only 9.5 to 1 compression.but my pistons are custom made by mahel.they are super light and only maybe 3 inches tall.my engine is also internally balanced like a 350,by looking no one can tell its 436 cu inches.has two freeze plugs in each side too
