Cobalt Blue 79z28
ive been depating lately whether i should put a 4speed in my camaro or go with the 400 turbo, its driving me crazy, any ideas wich would be better.i love to drive a stick, but i also like the dependability of a automatic.
That is looking good. I got that POR stuff all over me. I wore rubber gloves, but they got holes in them, got it behind my ear, in my hair, and trashed my clothes with it. At the time I had a tech job, so I had to go into banks and stores to work on computers and ATM machines with black stuff all over me. lol.
Now I get to grind my POR off of my subframe and rear rails to weld on some SFC's, and the firewall I'm going to weld up the heater holes since I'll be replacing it someday with an aftermarket AC setup.

The dash is straight forward. Pull the dash liner out, thats all can remember. LOL Easy though. I have POR on my floor permanently and also know the pain of going around with it on my fingers and hands.
I don't think a four speed with live long behind your motor. My BW ST10 is rated to 450 ft lbs. My motor is north of 500 but I don't plan on drag racing it. Sticky tires would kill it. I figure street tires are going up in smoke before my tranny will.

I'm not running the kind o RWHP you're running, but both my BB Camaro and my SB gasser run TH350's and have held up well top some brutal launches. The Camaro has 25 yrs. on a well built TH350, with manual shift kit, and the Austin also has the manual shift kit. I love shifting too, and the combination of auto with manual shift gives me both.
Depend on how you drive, what rear tires, and whether you miss a shift. Of course an auto wont have the last issue, and launches with an auto will be less brutal than with a stick and dumping the clutch.
