even the factory didnt do a great job of making all the panels straight as possible,u can see the line of spot putty i used that was kind of low,its where the panels must have been put together.

When I get ready to put a motor in an F body I plan on doing the 6.0 L with the EFI and a hotter cam... backed up with at least a 5 speed if not a 6 speed... the latest motors are all Aluminum so they are light weight and kick out a nice amount of power... Should get Great fuel mileage in the Camaro if they are pulling 20+MPG in a 6000 pound truck that has no aerodynamics compared with our cars... I can't friggen wait!!!

yeah them 6.0 l are sweet motors, the only way i would ever put a 5speed behind that engine is if it was atko 500,the factory 5speed would never hold up,i know guys running the ls engines in camaros that are getting about 30 miles to the gallon for stock engines, urs might be a little less with a hot cam.when i built my monster 436 engine i was also considering building a 406 ls engine but came across a really good 400 block for cheap so i built the 436 instead.

The 6L is a iron block. Dan, the guy starting the chaos in my garage is having a top end kit shipped here soon. That has LS3 heads the intake and a hot cam. It should be close to 480hp. Silly power for a pickup. The trans will most likely be a 4L60E.

The LQ9 is a Iron block yes... but the newer L76 and LFA (2007 to 2012) Are both Aluminum Block motors... Now we are talking!!! 480 HP with a light weight block... that would scream!! you sure it would be a 4L60E and not the 4L80E? I think a fully outfitted 70's 350 chevy was like 700 pounds... I wonder what the L76 weights in at? It would also help with taking some of the weight off the front end.

started working on my engine bay and found an unwelcome surprise, there was a pretty good size hole rusted thru on my cowl hidden under the weatherstripping, well just another road block to overcome, have decided yet how im gonna approach fixing it yet,a patch of some kind im sure of that.well now i cant say its rust free anymore, that sucks oh well i was bound to find a couple bad spots anyway.just wanted to post some before pictures my engine bay is a disaster is gonna take awhile before i can bring it back to new, might just end up pulling front clip off.havent decided yet.

Nothing is rust free, just cut it out and replace it.
