finally had the chance to work on my camaro a little more, the front bumper cover and front fender are officially ready for its basecoat of cobalt blue metallic, just finished the 600and 800 grit wet sand, they look awesome, its gonna turn out really good if things keep going as good as they have so far, also got the rear quarter panel started, been block sanding it with 400 grit on a 16 inch durablock, just need to block sand it a little more as its pretty straight right now, then give it one light coat of primer and 600 and 800 wet sand and its ready, then on to the bottom half of the quarter panel,i already sarted working on it applied spot putty to the uneven parts and fixed the 2 dings so now i just need to make it straight then lay my 2 coats of 2k primer and start the blocking process.

Well I got one head together on the Jeep,LOL. These heads are a pain as well, my spring compressor doesn't fit around the cam mounts very well. There are pockets for the lifters that are getting in the way.

You gonna shoot the whole car at once or gamble that the color will match? I hope it comes out the way you want. Spraying paint is the only thing that I am intimidated by. I'm so worried I'll tiger stripe my car it ain't funny.

yeah bro i know what u mean those over head cam engines can be a real PITA ,i wont work on them i refuse to,i know there good engines im just scared i would mess them up,give me a small block chevy and im at home,i did one when i swaped the chevy 3.4 twin cam engine in my fiero was a great engine but was a devil to work on.

yeah im not gonna spray any base color on the body until i can do it all at once, but im gonna spray the engine bay first as in real soon so i can get my engine in it,i think im gonna pull the front clip so i can do it right and make it look really good, just taking my time trying to do it right,i also wanna coat the back sides of my fenders,so i never have to worry about any rust, will just have to be really careful not to scratch my fenders at all in the process.my jambs i will also spray seperately and my fender vents, soon we can see how that blue looks in my engine bay.spraying color intimidates me too, everything has to be perfect or will come out all blochy and tiger stripes like u said,i get nervouse everytime i spray the color too.

Good luck. The 6.0L showed up today. I stuffed it under the shelves until its time to begin that ordeal. I wasn't aware how bid they are with all the factory stuff on them. It came with ECU and wiring. They even cut the exhaust around the O2 sensors so we have everything. Even the battery cables. It is so on!

bet u cant wait thats gonna be one awesome ram truck, that 6.0 is big and heavy and in my opinion the best lsx engine they got and surely the strongest,i heard them ecus are real easy to program and tons of stuff for them, how many miles does it have on it,had 3 gmc trucks with that motor loved that engine,it was one of the smoothest v-8 engines i ever owned, also had great torque, towed my 24 foot lake michigan boat and never missed a beat barely even knew it was back there and got 18 miles to the gallon towing,on a trip i checked it and got 25 miles to the gallon, wich is awesome for a truck with a v-8.

should be an easy swap the hardest part will be fabricating some engine and tranny mounts other than that should fit in there no problems.

He's ditching the efi for a carb and MSD box to fire the coils. The rest I'll tag and stuff on a shelf for when I'm swapping one in the Camaro. Your getting great mpg. The 04' four door I drive gets about 14 highway w/ a 5.3 but is in desperate need of help. I need to clean the MAF sensor and check for a intake leak. It has a low speed miss. Sounds great with my foot down for sure.

yeah i have seen them carb setups them look really slick,if i was to put a ls engine in mine i would surely run a carb too,i had it with efi after my irocz giving me so much trouble i want nothing to do with efi anymore,oh well i gave it a shot and it didnt work out.plus i like the simplicity of a carb set-up and so easy to trouble shoot.with efi it could be a million diffrent things that need to be corrected.give me a carb anyday on my hotrod.yeah mostly in town and going to work i only averaged about 14mpg too,but when on along trip on the expressway it did much better, plus once u get them problems fixed it should get better fuel mileage.
