I would lean more towards the last guy just forgot it....
Would not surprise me with all the other odd things Ive seen.
New mains came in...

 

I'm still waiting for the new piston rings to come in, but I got the cam and crank installed today. I got bored and tossed a few bolts in to see how things would look with the new colors. I like how it looks.

 

looks sharp i like that color combo,are you gonna try re installing the engine with the headers on.if so let me know how it goes.

 

I'm going to do it with out them on. Motor mounts look like they would be a pain. If you leave the starter off, its a lot easier to to install the headers afterwords. At least for me anyways. I still need to remove the old heater cover and presser wash the engine bay.
I keep putting it off because I know its going to suck....

 

yeah i know what u mean i need to do mine too,and also paint the engine bay,thats gonna be a big job de-greasing everything,so i can lay the paint.

 

Mineral spirits works great for the heavy gunk without burning the paint... then engine degrease to remove what is left.... The nice part about Mineral spirits is that is does not eat up rubber parts, your hands, the driveway and etch glass like other cleaners can do and is cheap by the gallon at home depot. A nice stiff brush and a coffee cup will make for light work.

I was finally getting things done in the bay. Then I thought, ''Let me go ahead and pull that heater core cover''. I then found something I should have seen coming....

 

omg,it looks like they jerry rigged everything in ur car,hope thats all the gremlins u find in there.geez they could have spent a little time and at least used some metal.

 

LOL Awesome! I was peeling the roof off my old house and found two 1960's Michigan license plates covering an old vent hole. I couldn't stop laughing.
