Default 71 Camaro Base 307

Hey Guys,

Super excited to join this forum! My father-in-law just gave my son his first car. Looking to restore it back to its glory days. The car has been sitting for the last 7 years. So planning to siphon the gas, replace the oil, and add a new battery. Any other recommendations on what else to do to get it running? Any solid websites to purchase parts or oem parts?

I'd replace all the rubber bits, tires, gas and brake lines are too old, they rot on cars sitting for years.
Flush out all the fluids and replace,I'd want to replace all the brake parts as well.
Pull the spark plugs and pour oil in the cylinders and let them soak for a day or so then spin the motor 180 degrees and do it again.
Spin the motor over a few times with the starter motor and the plugs out.
Replace any fuel filters, there is likely one in the carb where the fuel line comes in.
Good luck.

You bet,by the way great looking car.
Those early 2nd gen cars are getting to be worth a pretty penny.
