Wow! That will be a huge project. I would not consider this car salvagable. I may be a good parts car, but from the photos there is simply way too much rust in the critical areas. Good luck.

that is going to take some work, but if you really put some money into it, it should be nice.

i plan on it taking a while but the car is not completely junk. i have about 2 people a day asking me if i was going to sell it. one guy offered my 5 grand for it. I would never even started working on the car if it wasn't a gift from my dad. I always wanted to fix it up, and i told my dad he has the first drive when its ready for the road, which should be in March. The car will not be finished but it will be road worthy. I have a long way to go and i know this is going to take a lot of time and money but to me the car is worth every penny. To be driving in the same car as my dad did when he was younger is something you cant put a price on.

My brother has a 64 Chevelle that looks like that. The rusted dash and floorboards and so on.But that was your dad's and thats cool. Was he the original owner?
And that looks to be a 400 small block.

He is not the original owner, one owner before him. The engine is a 400 Pontica big block out of a 1971 F1 Firebird. The engine runs great after 16 years, put new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and points, and she fired right off with some fresh gas.

I am currently restoring a 69 camaro of my own that I bought for $3,500 off of ebay. It is complete menus the console, front seatbelts, dash, motor, and trans. I found out that itwas one of 8,000 that came with a factory 8-track and is a pre x code. When I got it it had the passenger side quarter and rocker, it still needs the driverside rocker replace, full floor and trunk pan, shock towers, driver side frame rail, and dash pan.I thinkit wasa decent price for a 69 camaro in this condition for the price. Does yours have any frame, roof, or shock tower rot? As far as I can tell that $5,000 offer is probibly what its worth, knowing the price of 69 camaro's but there worth it in the end. Do you have a welder and possibly plasma cutter if you need one? What is your future plans for the motor, trans, and rearend gears? Not to bad of a car but who whould ever think of putting a Pontiac engine in a chevy?

thats why my dad put that engine in there, cause no one eles really had one in a camaro. As far as rot it needs new quarters, floors, and front fenders, the doors are good along with the hood and the rest of the car. i will be doing all the work myself, i went to school to learn bodywork and paint, i know how to weld and my dad is a mechinic. I have all the tools and supply to due everything. My plans as far as engine is to leave it all alone. The 400 BB will stay alone with the 400 trans, and the rear end i have no idea what is in there but it will stay also. I just want to get the car on the road and due all the cosmetics later. I would like the car to look good but i am not looking for show quilty. I would not sell the car for any price just because it means so much to me
